My extreme super moon was despicable me

This past week, I was busy navigating my constellation.I was super excited by the Perigee, Extreme Super moon.  On that famous day, I did miss it when it was at the horizon, then it was too cold. I could not chase a super moonlight in a freezing  rain. I could not brave the weather. I totally missed it. However, I was confident that such “extreme super moon” will bring me some kind of luck, revelation, something fabulous and positive.

Well, the following Sunday afternoon, I lost my wallet while bike riding home from the grocery store!!! Once I realized it, I when back to look and ask around. Nothing, it was lost!! The happy bliss was instantly replaced by extreme frustration with an aftertaste of “ super curse”. I never lost my wallet. I lost a lot of stuff but not my wallet! To be honest, I was a mess, no more moonlighting, relativism, Zen or balance. I was devastated because deep down I needed something extremely good to happen. I felt guilty, exposed and vulnerable. All those swirl of emotions over a lost wallet. The relativist in me became an absolutist:  Yes, extremely convinced of my bad luck or my “not so” lucky curse. I wondered what I have done, or not doing in this life to deserve some of my  problems. I did not see the lesson to be learned for my misadventure. I complained, then whined, cried and complained some more.

Guess who called me at 1:30 am her time. My mother, she could not sleep and had the urge to call me!!! Yes, I got to get out my misery, to my mommy…  I felt better, she just brought back the relativist within  to life by reminding me that nobody was hurt. My family was healthy. I had no reason to give up hope because one extra bad thing happened.  She reminded me that I was healthy, loved, and blessed. It was and is true. My dream team came to rescue with an “extreme comfort dinner” involving a lot of carbs, meat, spiciness, cream, cheeses, chocolate, and ice cream. All that combined with a cartoon chosen by my padawan, Despicable Me.
And you know what; I was high on sugar, carbs, laughter and love. I ended up dancing on Pharell Williams Despicable Me theme song. By the way my padawan is definitively a Jedi apprentice in training. He knew that the movie and song would cheer me up. Thank you again to my dream team…

By Monday morning, I was Zen and calm. I counted my blessings while indulging on Nutella by the spoon because I really deserved it!!!  Life was good again, my lost wallet was a way to remind me that I was blessed. It was a sign that I should shut up and enjoy the flow of my constellation.

By Monday afternoon, an employee from a coffee shop on my route called me and said that someone return my wallet!!! (Out of despair I left my phone number and my name to all businesses on my route hoping that maybe…) This was the extreme super moon effect, I was expecting. I could not believe it!! I rushed over, it was my wallet, minus  60 dollars but everything was there. Yes! I have my wallet back.  Thanks God! Thank you to my dream team! Thank you to my extreme super moon.

FYI: I promised  to not complain for two weeks…:)
Peace

Moonlight serenade: Tsukioka YOSHITOSHI (1832-1892)

Just Beautiful!!!
From warriors and legends on Richard Kruml's  website.
"The Heian courtier Fujiwara no Yasumasa playing the flute by moonlight. Based on a painting Yoshitoshi exhibited at the Exhibition for the Advancement of Painting in the autumn of 1882. The story relates that while Fujiwara no Yasumasa was playing on Ichihara Moor he was approached by the bandit Kidomaru who intended to kill him. Instead he was overcome by the beauty of the music and gave up his plan. Yoshitoshi's painting was so well received, the subject was incorporated into a play with Ichikawa Danjuro IX playing Fujiwara no Yasumasa several months after the publication of the print.
Published 1883 by Akiyama Buemon. Considered by cogniscenti to be Yoshitoshi's finest design.Superb impression of the utmost finesse. This appears to be the only illustrated example with the background clouds wiped from left to right. The "proof" impression in The Philadelphia Museum of Art is annotated "Please print the background colour this way" [ clouds wiped right to left ]. Fine colour. Minimal shaving bottom centre sheet and a slight discoloration on last sheet, otherwise fine condition with extra paper for joining. Signed Oju Taiso Yoshitoshi sha."

Moonlight serenade of the week

“When a finger points to the moon, the imbecile looks at the finger"    Chinese Proverb
“Everyone is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody" Mark Twain

“The moon, like a flower In heaven's high bower,
With silent delight sits and smiles on the night.”
         William Blake

        For Children:
1/ A website all about the Moon:
The Lunar and Planetary Institute is a research institute that provides support services to NASA and the planetary science community, and conducts planetary science research under the leadership of staff scientists, visiting researchers, and postdoctoral fellows.
        2/ A short story
The boy who gave life to moon..
By Malin Enbom (Stockholm Sweden) dedicated to "Simone Consolazione"

Once upon a time there was a boy who often went out to walk alone. Sad and lonely he tried to walk along every path. Maybe the friend of happiness would take his hand and walk beside him one day. His tears made every flower want to bloom and reach towards his warm heart.

Mother Sun who had been following him felt a deep pain over his sadness because she loved him as her own son. One day she decided to pick all of heavens stars for turning them into a long shiny stair. She wanted to take him in her arms and kiss away all his sorrow. One night she woke up the boy and told him to walk upon the stairs of the stars. When he was so high up in the sky that the dark night was the only thing that surrounded him Mother Sun took him in her arms and kissed him sweetly. Mother Sun knew that she had to bring him back down to earth but before she let him go she gave the boy the name of Moon. And then she took out one half of her own heart to create heaven's moon which would for all time remind her about the boy...

        Same Moonlight for Our Dreams

Many moons ago, my father won a  scholarship by cross running  trough the hills of his beloved Burundi. So he left home to pursue his dreams far away in Europe. Some moons later my mother escaped her beloved Burundi to Rwanda with her siblings. She survived and kept the  promise she made to her father, to realize her dreams. On a special moon they met, then decide to work  together  to dream beyond for a better future. They worked hard, struggled, failed and succeeded. I was born in Rwanda as a child of refugees. I was fortunate that my parents decided to leave Africa to give us a better future. We moved a lot. I am lucky to have  experienced others cultures, foods, lifestyles, traditions, religions and dreams. And I did learn that we are different but the same. Every night we have common  dreams under that same moonlight. In this  blog I want to share my opinions about how difference is beautiful and how similar we are.
